50 Cent Loses A Shocking Amount Of Weight

Check out these shocking (and kinda disturbing) images of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson that surfaced yesterday.

My first impression was: this can’t be real. But apparently it is.
50 lost the weight to play the role of a cancer patient in the upcoming film ‘Things Fall Apart’, a movie which he penned, apparently inspired by a friend who died of the disease.
He lost an incredible 54lbs (almost 4 stone), which is astonishing and surely dangerous.
Word is he’s now getting back to normal again after completing the shooting of the movie, on his way to returning to his normal size.
Although a shocking image, and a little disturbing, 50 deserves huge props for the effort and dedication that this took. Let’s hope the movie is good enough to make it worthwhile.

Michael Jackson concert audition video

OK, so moments after posting my previous post I came across the following video, which documents the audition process and selection of Michael’s dancers for the ‘This Is It’ concerts.
Watch it. It’s awesome.
And it’s perked me right up again… psyched that I’m even getting to see him one last time (albeit now almost a year later than I had planned!)
Michael Jackson reschedules opening shows

I was stunned and very disappointed earlier today.
I was chilling, watching some TV, and my iPhone vibrated with an email from AEG/TicketmasterUK telling me that Michael Jackson’s opening 4 shows have been rescheduled…. with my show, July 12th, being rescheduled to 3rd March 2010!!!!
2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gutted.
One, because I was so hyped about the show only being a matter of weeks away, now I have to wait almost a year.
Two, because I was going to be one of the first to see him at these shows.
And three, because I had sat up all night to buy the tickets, spent a fortune on them, and then proceeded to spend a fair few bucks on flights and hotels in order to get to the show in London.
Anyway, after calming down and realising that I would still get to see him and that we could change our flights for minimal cost, I’m not quite as annoyed.
I was going to be one of the first to see him on this run, but another way of looking at it is this:
If this is to be Michael’s last ever concert performances – if this is indeed “it” – then I will now be one of the last to ever see him. Which is not a bad way of looking at it.
For what it’s worth, the reasoning behind this appears to do with wanting more on-stage dress rehearsal time.
Apparently Madonna’s run in the O2 just before Michael takes residency meant that there was very little, if any, free days at the Arena to allow Michael and crew to have enough dress rehearsals.
Fair enough, I guess.
Check out the official press-release/email below:
As the anticipation mounts for the most eagerly awaited comeback of all time, more details about the scale of the Michael Jackson O2 shows were released this week.
Due to the sheer magnitude of the “This Is It” concerts at The O2 arena promoters and producers AEG Live and Kenny Ortega, Michaels directorial partner and creative collaborator have elected to move back a few of the opening shows in order to meet the challenges presented by such a massive and technically complex show. Organisers are determined that all Michaels legions of fans attending the opening nights get to experience the same high quality staging that is planned for all of the spectacular shows. In order to deliver a phenomenal and unprecedented show – the first show on the 8th July will take place on 13th July 2009. The subsequent shows on 10th July will be moved to 1st March 2010, 12th July will be moved to 3rd March 2010, and the show on the 14th July will be moved to 6th March 2010.
Randy Phillips, President and CEO, AEG Live added, “Kenny and Michael are, at the same time, both creative pioneers and perfectionists. This show has grown in size and scope, thereby, necessitating more lead time for manufacture of the set, programming the content for the massive video elements, and, most importantly, more time for full production and dress rehearsals in the worlds busiest arena, The O2. As much as we agonised over this change in the original schedule, we are sure the fans will understand when they experience the level of entertainment Michael Jackson intends to deliver while also ensuring the safety of the musicians, cast and crew and the crisp execution of the production. It is AEG Lives sincere hope that those lucky enough to have purchased tickets will have enough time to change their personal schedules and travel plans if they are coming from outside of London. We do not want anyone to miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Michael, who is directly involved with all aspects of the styling/choreography/band selection and rehearsals, is working around the clock to ensure this is the show to end all shows!
Kenny Ortega, Michaels director
ial partner and creative collaborator said, “After directing the Dangerous and HIStory tours, I know what the fans expect and myself and the team want to deliver a flawless production. We apologise to all disappointed Michael Jackson fans and remain extremely dedicated and focused on creating an exceptional live music experience.”
AEG Live stressed that anybody who cannot make the rescheduled dates for any reason will get a full refund of the ticket and booking fee. Fans can log on www.MichaelJacksonLive.com for further information and call the 24hr hotline 0844 277 9982 or email MichaelJackson@ticketmaster.co.uk.
Any ticket holder that has purchased tickets from viagogo will receive details of its policy directly from viagogo.
All tickets will be issued with the new date printed on them.

Feeling a little urge to be Daft Punk and/or Kanye West??
Wanna satisfy that urge for, like, 10mins??…
Check out the iDaft.
(and it is a bit daft too… fun, but daft!)

Spotted this on Kanye’s blog.
It’s a little sample player where you can use your computer’s keyboard to make a ‘hit’
(well, that might be exaggerating a bit!)

Danny Goke – PYT on American Idol

So yeh, my blog has been completely Michael Jackson based for this whole week!
And rightly so.
To recap -
1) Michael annoucnes a sensational return to the live stage, with 10 shows in London’s O2 Arena in July .
2) I’m one of the privileged few to receive a text on the night of Tues 10th with my presale password
3) While waiting for the presale to begin at 7am on Wed 11th, I refresh the ticketmaster page only to find 20 more shows added. 2 minutes later, after I refresh again, these shows have vanished. Someone was clearly testing the page with more shows – I predict these shows will be confirmed
4) At 7am I use my password and successfully get 4 tickets – awesome seats too – I’m psyched!
5) My suspicions are correct – Another 20 shows are added, taking the run right through to September.
6) Even more shows are added. After the first run finishes at the end of Sept, a new run begins in Jan 2010!
7) Finally, just before the tickets actually go on general public sale, one final string of dates are added.
This brings it to a total of 50 shows! FIFTY!!!
This means that 1million people will see him. The most amount of people to ever attend a series of arena shows, the biggest audience ever to see an artist in one city…
And the fastest ticket sales in history.
Wow.
So my date is Sunday 12th July – his third show.
I’m feeling good about it. Any little first show kinks should be ironed out, but he’ll still be super fresh.
Myself and my fellow Cool DJs Paul Kennedy, Connor Philips and Stephen Clements make up the travelling foursome! It’s gonna be a wicked weekend.
So with all the MJ hype, I thought I should post what I consider to be the best performance of this week’s American Idol.
It was (you guessed it) Michael Jackson week on the show.
And although there were some real good performances (and some rubbish ones), musical director from Milwaukee Danny Gokey performed one of my favourite MJ tracks – P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)…
…and he absolutely killed it! Awesome – check it out below
